PP (Polypropylene)
Propylene, the monomer of polypropylene (PP), is produced in large quantities as a by-product of petroleum refining, as is ethylene.
PP is used in the production of boxes, bottles, containers, etc. in the fields of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and food; the foam variety is used in the production of furniture or sofa cushions.
Due to its low density, it has entered the textile industry to compete with other fibers in the production of sacks and curtains. Its easy cleaning and quick drying makes it suitable for use in this field.
